Quelques larmes en ce clair et froid matin mais toutes les bonnes choses ont une fin et aujourd'hui était le jour du départ de nos correspondants.

School life
This week, we did a lot of different activities! We began with a breakfast at school with our penpals, after we went to the techno room to write a text about the first evening to put it on the blog. After lunch, we did a Rally in Tours. On Friday, we worked on the Rally from the day before. We created posters. In the afternoon we played badminton, basketball or we did Irish dancing. After the weekend, on Monday, we had maths and we went to the water tower with our maths teachers. We learnt Irish and English songs. We wrote a text about food. On Tuesday, we visited Paris. Our Irish penpals visited the Eiffel tower, the Champs Elysées, la place Montmartre, the Arc de Triomphe and they went on a boat on the Seine. French people visited « le musée de la Villette ». On Wednesday some of the groups went around Montlouis. On Thursday evening we had a party for the departure of our penpals!

Cette semaine nous avons fait beaucoup d'activités différentes! Nous avons commencé avec un petit déjeuner au collège avec nos correspondantes après nous sommes allées dans la salle techno pour écrire un texte sur le premier soir puis nous l'avons mis sur le blog. L'après-midi nous avons fait un rally dans Tours. Le vendredi nous avons travaillé sur le Rally de la veille. Nous avons créé des posters. L'après-midi nous avons joué au badminton, au basket ou fait de la danse Irlandaise. Après le week-end, le lundi nous avons eu math et nous avons été jusqu'au château d'eau avec nos professeurs de Math. Nous avons appris des chansons Irlandaises et Anglaises. Nous avons écrit un texte sur la nourriture. Le mardi nous avons visité Paris. Nos correspondantes Irlandaises sont allées visiter la Tour Eiffel, les Champs Elysées, la place Montmartre, l'Arc de Triomphe et elles sont allées sur la Seine sur un bateau-mouche. Les élèves français sont allés visiter « le musée de la Villette »

Differences between Irish food and French Food
In France we have 3 big meals and in Ireland there are 5 small meals. The food is very different in Touraine, specialities are: « andouillettes », « rillons », « rillettes » from the « Charcuterie », pork butchers...
AliceIn France they eat lots of bread, with all meals !!! For lunch, in Ireland, Irish students eat a packed lunch because in Irish school there are no « Cantines »! In Ireland, they eat more vegetables !!!
En France ils mangent du pain tout le temps, avec chaque repas! Le beurre est moins salé. Le popcorn est sucré et en Irlande il est salé. En France, ils mangent moins de légumes. Le lait en Irlande est toujours frais, les plats sont moins cuisinés. On mange pas beaucoup de croissants en Irlande, La viande est moins cuite en France qu'en Irlande. Tout le monde mange plus de fromage et boit plus de vin.

En France, la vie en famille est très importante. La famille mange ensemble et passe beaucoup de temps à table. En Irlande, nous ne mangeons pas ensemble tous les jours mais nous mangeons ensemble le week-end. En France, les frères et soeurs sont très sympa et ils aiment être ensemble. En France, la famille se couche plus tôt , à neuf heures et demie, parce qu' ils se lèvent plus tôt . En Irlande, nous nous couchons à dix heures tous les soirs. En France, l'école commence plus tôt et finit plus tard, à quatre où cinq heures. Après ils rentrent à la maison, les enfants mangent un goûter, brioche et nutella, mais en Irlande, les enfants mangent le dîner plus tôt et ils ne mangent pas de goûter. Le soir, la famille regarde la télévision ensemble et en Irlande, les enfants vont sur l'ordinateur où vont dans leur chambre.

In France, family life is very important. The family eats together and spends a lot of time at the table. In Ireland they don't necessarily eat together every day but they eat together at the week-end. In France brothers and sisters are nice to each other and get on well. In France family go to bed early, at half past nine, because we get up early. In Ireland they go to bed at ten oclock every evening. In France school begins early and finishes later, at 4 or 5 oclock. After we return home, we eat an afternoon snack: brioche and nutella, but in Ireland, children eat dinner earlier and they don't eat afternoon snacks. In the evening families watch TV together but in Ireland, children go on the computers or go to their bedroom.

Saturday
We woke up at 10 o'clock. We went to SUPER U, Styleco and had lunch at 1 o'clock.
In the afternoon, we went to Chinon with Alban and Pierre to see their basketball match. After, we visited Chinon. We went to Tours to go to bowling. After, we went to Mac Donald's to eat.
It was good fun.Then we went home. It was a good day.
Sunday
We woke up at 11 o'clock. I did my homework and Catherine went on the computer. At 2 o'clock, we went to Chenonceau with Alban.

The rally of Montlouis
We went to visit Montlouis and we did a rally. We saw the church which was very interesting.We went to the townhall to ask questions about the population of Montlouis. We went down to the Loire via the Courtemanche Street.We looked at the wine cellars which were originally caves used for extracting limestone to build houses.From the 'Bellevue Lane' we saw the chimneys airing the caves.Then, we came back to the school and went home with our pen-friends.
Le rallye de Montlouis
Nous sommes allés visiter Montlouis et nous avons fait un rallye. Nous avons vu l'église qui était très intéressante. Nous sommes allés à la mairie pour poser des questions sur la population de Montlouis. Nous sommes descendus jusqu'à la Loire par la rue Courtemanche. Nous avons vu les caves à vin qui avaient été creusées à l'origine pour extraire le tuffeau pour construire les maisons. Du chemin de Bellevue nous avons vu les cheminée qui servent à aérer les caves.

Wednesday afternoon
On Wednesday, we went to the Lake's swimming pool with Selma, Louise, Margaux, Maud, Mazel, Jane Keelir. Margaux' s father drove us. We met the girls there. We did a lot of sliding on the slide but the water was so cold because the slide is an open air one. We slid with inflatable swimming rings. It was so funny because we tried to wait for our friends in the slide but it was so difficult! The water was very warm was around 30°. This swimming pool is the biggest in the Departement I think. For our break, Selma brought a cake with chocolate. We ate outside but it was so cold that we didn't stay there a long time. Finally after the break, we didn't get back into the water. We had a shower at the swimming pool and Margaux's father drove us home.

Mercredi après midi
Mercredi, nous sommes allées visiter des châteaux. Nous avons visité Chenonceau et Amboise. Ils sont très grands, Francois I, Louis XVI, Catherine de Médicis et Gabriel D'Estrées habitaient dans le château de Chenonceau. Le château d' Amboise était de style Renaissance. Aprés, nous sommes rentrées à la maison. Nous sommes arrivées à la maison à six heures .J'ai pris une douche. Nous avons mangé notre dîner en famille. Le soir, c'était amusant ! Je suis allée au lit à dix heures.On Wednesday, with my penfriend, we visited the Amboise and Chenonceau castles. It was very good. I prefered Chenonceau because it is bigger than Amboise. The weather was very good.We were with my mother who loves to take photos and yesterday it was really boring. My little brother wasn't with us because he was with my grandfather.
In Amboise, we saw Henri II's bedroom and lots of other rooms. We learnt lots of things. In
Chenonceau my mother loved the kitchen and she took loads of photos. We learnt other things too, like : for the First or Second World Wars there was a corridor that was used as a hospital. After Amboise we went shopping. We arrived back home at 6 o'clock and we took a shower. At dinner there was a lot of laughter. My brother was very funny because he kept saying : «Qu'est ce qu'elle a dit ?» We went to sleep a 9 o'clock !

Je me suis réveillée à six heures et quart. J’ai pris une douche et j’ai mangé le petit déjeuner. À sept heures moins dix, je suis allée à l’école avec Adeline et son grand-père. J’ai dit « au revoir » et je suis montée dans le car. Nous sommes arrivées à l’aéroport à onze heures et demie. J’ai acheté des bonbons dans l’aéroport pour ma famille et un magazine pour le voyage dans l’avion. Le voyage était long mais amusant. J’ai écouté de la musique dans mon Ipod et j’ai lu mon magazine. Nous sommes arrivées à l’aéroport à Dublin à quatre heures. J’ai rencontré ma famille à l’aéroport. J’ai été très heureuse ! J’ai dit « au revoir » à mes profs et ma classe. Je suis rentrée à ma maison à cinq heures et demie. J’ai mangé le dîner.

Nous sommes arrivées à l’école à sept heures. J’étais triste et très fatiguée. Nous avons dit « Au revoir » à tout le monde. Nous sommes parties à sept heures et demie. Nous avons mangé et parlé. À onze heures, nous sommes arrivées à l’aéroport. Le vol est parti à une heure et demie donc nous avons mangé et fait du shopping. Le vol était en retard. Le vol était très amusant. Quand nous sommes arrivées à Dublin, ma famille m’attendait. J’étais heureuse d’être à la maison mais les correspondants me manquaient.
